"I
am Sasha. You may think I'm a girl, but I'm not. Sasha can also be a
boy's name. But anyway, to the point. I started making movies when I
was five, and have the aspiration to continue on and become a movie
director/producer/writer.
When I started I was an amateur and I was also five, but I started by filming magic tricks. Then for the first time I did a stop start animation of a car crashing into a LEGO building. That one video sparked my imagination to create bigger and better each time. By the age of six I did my very first green screen movie; Circus in the Snow. Now you may think that that sounds very good, but trust me, at that time I was horrible at green screening, but over time I improved.
My first big movie was Sasha and the Magic Toy Shop. The plot was pretty weak; Sasha has magical stuffed animals that can talk and walk but a bad-guy comes in and steals them all so that he can ransom Sasha for $1,000,000. Sasha takes his sword and meets the bad-guy in an unexpected way.
I must admit that movie had limited characters and a slow dialogue, but it was a start. Next came Sasha and the Magic Toy Shop II. This was a complete flop, and almost a rip off of Harry Potter as Sasha reveals his magic capabilities. But I learned from it.
Now I had entered into a period of decline. I began to get a big head. I started plot-lines that I didn't finish, stories that I didn't write down, at that moment in time I put away the camera for what seemed like the last time.
The camera got dusty over the years and my life as a movie director seemed to have reached it's end, until one fateful day when my friend Kyle came over for a sleep-over. On the drive to my house Kyle and I always came up with funny ideas and made them into a story. I usually came up with the main ideas while Kyle came up with some of the funny dialogue. Kyle and I had both watched the movie Click and we decided to make a spoof of it. We called it Stupid. Kyle said 'Let's call all of these ideas the Sasha and Kyle Series.'
Then at the mention of a series, I immediately had an idea. I told Kyle that we should film this video Stupid. Now Stupid really was very stupid and easy. But everything progressed from there.
I figured out the reason my movies didn't get finished or weren't written down. It was because they were too complicated to accomplish, and I was only seven and trying to use resources I didn't have, like people, props, costumes, and a finished idea. And that's what had stopped me before. Then I also lost faith in myself and my movies, which was also my undoing.
Now I am very careful and organized with my movies, but it all started with magic tricks. I think the moral in this story for everyone is if you have a dream, never give up."
